Exam tips

Tips for 12th grade exam going students

1. The purpose of exams is to get good marks, that have an impact on your career, the purpose of which, in turn is better quality of life.
2. Imagine a glass of water (representing you), put some pebbles into it (bad marks), you can still drink the water. But if you put a drop of ink Good marks or bad marks don’t define you as a person. Nothing does.
bad marks) you can’t drink it. Treat bad marks as pebbles, not ink. They don’t define you, nor your whole life.
3. If your best friend/parents got bad marks, would you call them a failure? Or simply someone who got bad marks? Can you be kinder and considerate to self too? You are human. No other label describes you well.
4. Watch out for negative predictions in your head (e.g. I will fail, the paper will be tough). Such predictions are baseless and a natural way of responding to a stressful situation. There is a possibility NOT certainty of poor performance.
5. Focus on Realistic positive chances of getting good marks, rather than those of bad marks. Best case scenarios and most likely scenarios, not just worst case scenarios.
6. When anxiety goes up, your memory goes down.
7. If you are so anxious that you cannot focus on studies, or losing sleep, or have thoughts of death/suicide, consult a psychiatrist and/or a CBT therapist near you. A quick session will help.
8. Get about 8 hours of continuous sleep every night, avoid mobile usage
9. Don’t skip breakfast, preferably have high protein.
10. Have some active exercises about 40 minutes even on the exam day!
